On 15th February, Fabrizio Romano broke the news that Kylian Mbappe will not be staying at Paris Saint Germain in the 2024/25 season. It ends his stay at the club, which lasted seven years, initially joining them on loan in 2017. 

Although it is confirmed that he will be leaving the club in June, not many are sure where he will be going. The most obvious destination was Real Madrid, which have been linked to him since 2022. Many reports stated English clubs Liverpool and Arsenal were also clubs he was interested in joining, but the two were not ready to break their wage structure to sign him.

While many people theorized where Mbappe would go, his France teammate tweeted something that caught the attention of fans. Aurelien Tchouameni, who plays for Real Madrid, just tweeted two popcorn emojis.

Seeing this tweet, many believe that Aurelien Tchouameni knew where Kylian Mbappe would end up at Real Madrid. The midfielder did admit a few days ago that the Madrid dressing room discussed his situation. Tchouameni also added that even if Mbappe does make a decision, the forward won’t tell him. 

Florentino Perez on good terms with Kylian Mbappe despite contract refusal in 2022 

In 2022, Real Madrid pushed to get Kylian Mbappe in 2022. They were extremely close to signing the superstar, but he rejected their offer at the last moment, instead extending his contract with Paris Saint Germain. The contract with the French giants meant he became the highest-paid player in Europe.

Despite not agreeing to sign for Madrid, he and Madrid president Florentino Perez are on good terms. After deciding to extend his contract with PSG, he contacted Perez and informed him of his decision. The Madrid president appreciated the call and still is on good terms with the French superstar. 

Mbappe informed PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, of his decision on the 15th, and the two parties will now work on ensuring they finish the season strong. PSG had offered a contract with the same salary, but the length was a variable that could be discussed. 

Madrid’s current proposal has a salary lower than the contract they offered in 2022. It is also relatively lower than the one he currently has with PSG.
