Aurelien Tchouameni, the 23-year-old Real Madrid midfielder has set social media ablaze after a video of the player has gone viral. Tchouameni is seen in black shorts and a Jay-Z t-shirt as he poses for pictures and videos with a lion at the zoo! Yes, you read that right. The French international decided to spend his time recovering from a foot injury in UAE, with a Lion.

Tchouameni recently suffered a ‘stress fracture’ on his second metatarsal in his left foot. The player sustained the injury during the El Clasico on 28th October. FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi appeared to injure the player in a contest for the ball. Following the injury, Tchouameni has been sidelined for over 2 months, and the case on his left foot is visible in the most recent video of the player with the lion.

In the video, the Frenchman is fully in disbelief as he observes the lion with its handler. Tchouameni said:

In a humorous reply, the handler replied ‘No the neck’, and the two burst into laughter. In another video, he says that he had a ‘nice experience’ at the zoo and calls the lion ‘my boy Leo’.

Aurelien Tchouameni has been a central part of Carlo Ancelotti‘s midfield ever since he signed from AS Monaco on a £85.3 million transfer. The player has been likened to that a lion, with Real Madrid and French fans referring to the player as a ‘French lion’. After the video went viral on social media, comments have started pouring in.

Tchouaméni is set to miss the next two months after a fracture in his left foot. His last involvement for Real Madrid was in the 2-1 win against FC Barcelona in the El Clasico. Subsequently, the player has been replaced by Eduardo Camavinga in midfield. However, the latter has also fallen to injury during the International break. A knee ligament injury puts Camavinga out of selection while there is no timeline as of yet for his return.
