On June 29, International LGBT+ Pride Day, ten La Liga clubs expressed their support through social media posts. All but one of these clubs experienced a decrease in their Instagram followers. FC Barcelona suffered the most significant loss, with a staggering decline of 440,000 followers.
The other clubs, namely Valencia, Athletic Club, Real Sociedad, Osasuna, Getafe, Celta, Mallorca, Deportivo Alavés, and Las Palmas, also shared similar posts. Unfortunately, all of them, except for Las Palmas, witnessed a drop in their follower count. Valencia, with a loss of 2,299 followers, experienced the second-largest decline after Barcelona. Interestingly, Las Palmas managed to gain a modest 67 followers during this period.
To show their support, FC Barcelona made a significant gesture by modifying their logo to include the LGBT progress flag in the background. They also made a post to mark the occasion on their Instagram account. With a substantial following of 122 million followers, Blaugrana’s Instagram typically gains around 30,000 new followers each day. However, after the post, the club experienced a significant loss in the number of their followers.
Barcelona posted the same message on other social media platforms too. However, the loss hasn’t been as significant there.

Barcelona recently made an announcement stating that their partnership with Gatorade, the energy drink supplier, has come to an end. They acted swiftly and efficiently to secure a new sponsor to fill the void left by the company.
They have revealed that they have signed a deal with Prime, a company co-founded by popular internet personalities Olajide Olatunji and Logan Paul, to become their new club sponsor. Barcelona has officially appointed Prime as its official hydration partner, and the partnership has already become active with immediate effect. Prime, recognized as one of the rapidly emerging drinks brands globally, brings promising prospects for the Blaugrana club. They also sponsor Arsenal in the Premier League.
Indeed, the financial aspect of the partnership with Prime is likely to have positive implications for Barcelona. Given the club’s current focus on improving its financial situation both in the short and long term, every additional source of income becomes crucial. This sponsorship will also help the club attract a younger crowd as both KSI and Logan Paul have a massive fan following in those age groups.
