As the European Transfer window approaches the end, Portuguese and Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix may end up making a move to the Catalan giants, as per Fabrizio Romano. The player was heavily linked to a move away from the Colchoneros, as the player expressed his desire to seek new pastures. After making the move from Benfica to Atletico Madrid for a whopping €126m, Félix failed to make a strong impact for Someone’s side and struggled with form. After 4 years at the club and a failed loan move to Chelsea, the 23-year-old prolific winger is set to make a move to Barcelona, per multiple reports.

After a disagreement with club management and news of the player choosing to terminate his contract, Fabrizio reports that Joao Felix is keen on a move to Barcelona. Club president Laporta has also shown strong interest in the signing of the player. Romano says that the club will initiate mission Felix within 48 hours or so. After the departure of French winger Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona have been in the market in search of a worthy replacement. However, the club’s recurring issue with Financial Fair Play (FFP) have inhibited their signings. This may come in the way of João’s signing as well. Even though head coach Xavi had not expressed interest in signing the player, President Laporta has been keen regarding the matter.

After summer signings İlkay Gündoğan and soon-to-be Barca player João Cancelo have arrived, the signing of Félix would be difficult due to FFP while club management seeks to work around the issue. Felix expressed his interest in joining the club as well. To quote Romano, “I’d love to join Barca. It’s my dream since I was a kid“, Félix told Romano.
