Gerard Pique, a defender for Barcelona, is reportedly reluctant to allow Shakira to take their children outside of Spain, even for a brief holiday.
Longtime couple Shakira and Gerard Pique made their separation public last month. After Pique was allegedly caught with many women and accused of cheating on the Colombian pop sensation, the news was made. According to rumors, Pique has forbidden Shakira from taking the children out of Spain as the two continue to argue in court about who will get custody of their two children, Sasha and Milan.
Laura Fa, a journalist for Televisión Espaola, had previously said that Pique was refusing to permit Shakira to travel to Miami with their children.
Is Gerard Pique not willing to let Shakira take their kids out of Barcelona?
A source close to the couple said: “Shakira is not going to stop until she manages to move to Miami and take the children with her. That is her main goal. But she can’t without Piqué’s consent, and he won’t give it. Not even for a few days of vacation.”
“Piqué is not going to let Shakira separate him from his children. He doesn’t want what happened to Collate to happen to him, who has no choice but to live in Miami if he wants to see and be with his son. He will not allow Shakira to move in with them.
“Not even temporarily. He knows that later he could have problems bringing them back if she refused. And he wants to avoid that by all means.”
Gerard Pique has not had a good couple of months. The defender has suffered a decline in his status within the Barcelona squad. Xavi Hernandez has apparently struggled with both physical issues and his attitude off the field. The player has apparently been informed by the management that he would not be relied upon for the upcoming season.
Of course, Barcelona has three young defenders who will only become better with time in Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo, and now Andreas Christensen. Pique is now dealing with a lot in his personal life, but Barcelona president Joan Laporta has been an aficionado of the player.
