Joules Kounde praised Patrick Mahomes for his inspiring victory in Super Bowl
Kansas City Chiefs defeated arch-rivals Philadelphia Eagles in a crunching 38-35 comeback on Sunday in the Super Bowl, as their star Quarterback Patrick Mahomes led a game-winning drive. Mahomes, who had been struggling through the game with an injury, managed to complete a 26-yard run on the final drive. Barcelona defender Joules Kounde, who avidly follows the NFL praised Mahomes on his inspiring victory through Twitter.
The French full-back, who is currently playing for Spanish giants Barcelona had positive words to say about Patrick Mahomes. Kounde, who recently joined Barcelona from Sevilla after making 95 appearances for the club, has proven to be a key player in Xavi’s side. The French International has appeared in 14 games, since Barcelona signed him in July 2022. He won the Supercopa de España with Barcelona in their 3-1 victory against bitter rivals Real Madrid.
Kounde has also appeared for the French National team on 18 occasions. Jules Kounde was selected for a 26-man team by France manager Didier Deschamps in 2021. He made his debut against Wales in an International friendly, coming on for Benjamin Pavard. He won the UEFA Nations League in the 2020-21 year. Jules Kounde was also a part of France’s World Cup 2022 campaign as they were the runners-up, losing out to Argentina in the final.

Jules Kunde is all praises after Patrick Mahomes leads Kansas City to victory in Super Bowl
“Mahomes is really that guy,” Kounde tweeted shortly after the Chiefs defeated the Eagles. Patrick Mahomes, who had been nursing a sprained ankle during the start of the Super Bowl, appeared to struggle with his injury shortly before halftime. Kansas City Chiefs were at their lowest at halftime as the score was 24-14 before Mahomes inspired a victory in the second half. The two-time NFL MVP completed 21 out of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns during halftime. Mahomes is the first player to win the Super Bowl in the same season he was awarded the MVP.
Patrick Mahomes added yet another achievement to his legacy after winning the Super Bowl LVII. Mahomes became just the 13th quarterback to win more than one Super Bowl. His 14-yard scramble was a key play in the second half on the touchdown drive. “I knew I wasn’t coming out of this game, even with that high ankle sprain, it kinda reaggravated a little bit,” Mahomes told the NFL Network after the victory. “I’ll worry about that in the offseason.”
“It was just all heart. We knew we didn’t play our best in the first half,” Travis Kelcie, Kansas City tight end claimed after their poor first-half performance. “And we were just able to regroup at halftime and figure it out. In that second half, we were just flying around.” Kelcie explained.
