Joao Felix signed for Barcelona on a season-long loan deal from rivals Atletico Madrid. Following the 23-year-old’s arrival at the Nou Camp, fans found previous instances of the Portuguese weighing in on the age-old Messi-Ronaldo debate and the results are bound to make the new signing an instant fan favorite.

Joao Felix plays for the Portugal National team and is a teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo. Surprisingly though, the youngster picked Messi over his rival on two separate occasions. Netizens have found clips where the Portuguese youngster is asked who he thinks is the better free-kick taker between Messi and Ronaldo. Félix picked Messi as his choice. In yet another video, Félix listed his favorite squad with Lionel Messi, Bernardo Silva, Neymar, and himself. Not including Cristiano.

So, it is a no-brainer that Camp Nou will have a warm welcome for their latest signing. In an interview back in February Felix was heard accepting that Barcelona was his dream club and that he has wanted to play there ever since he was a child. Now, even Barcelona released a video following his signing with the caption that his wish came true.

FC Barcelona managed to acquire the services of another Portuguese, a right-back, Joao Cancelo on transfer deadline day. After being linked to Barca for the entirety of the window, the move finally got through at the end. Even though the Blaugrana wanted to sign the player on a permanent deal, FFP complications forced the club to acquire him on a loan-only deal.

Cancelo was a regular starter for Guardiola’s Manchester City until a fallout with the manager which saw him be loaned to German Champions Bayern Munich, last season. Now, while being starved of minutes in the past years, the player has finally made the move to Barca. Cancelo will stay at Barca for the remainder of the season. Details of the deal are yet to be announced, though the player has agreed to lower his salary to join the club.
