In a recent interview FC Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowaski has revealed the real reason behind the downfall of his form in recent times. The Polish internal has blamed the world cup to have his good rhythm away.

Talking about the recent downfall of his form at Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski said, “The World Cup took my rhythm down a bit in this season”. His form after the world cup hasn’t truly been great. In the last four months after the tournament, he has just scored nine goals and has just has two assists. He has also been absent due to injuries on some occasions.

In the interview, Robert, revisited the memories of the moments when he first joined the Spanish giants last season. He said, “When did I know that Barcelona wanted me? I suppose it was in February or March. My dream has always been to play in La Liga. When the transfer was sealed, I called Anna and I remember that emotions tore me apart. I had goosebumps and even a tear in my eyes. I didn’t want to regret it after the end of my career for not having tried myself elsewhere”.

Robert Lewandowski reportedly talked about how Jurgen Klopp tried to persuade him over a probable transfer to Anfield back in 2017. Klopp would reportedly have loved to have brought him to Liverpool. And he even tried to persuade the striker to join him at Anfield in 2017 but to no avail.

Talking about the incident, Robert said, “We hosted Liverpool FC with Bayern in the Audi Cup in Munich in 2017. We spoke on that occasion. Klopp asked me, ‘Don’t you want to come to Liverpool?’ We looked at each other, then I laughed. I don’t know if he was totally serious. But going to Liverpool was never in my mind”.

Robert Lewandowski signed for Barcelona last summer after submitting a transfer request. He then eventually moved to Camp Nou for £42.5 million. Since then, he has been one of the regular fixtures for the Blaugrana.
