Barcelona’s striker finally agrees to terminate his contract on the last day of the transfer window: Reports
braithwaite
The Barcelona striker who signed in as a surprise from Leganes in February 2020, Martin Braithwaite has made up his mind to terminate his contract. The player was supposed for a contract till 2024 with a 300m buyout for the Catalans. The striker didn’t receive much of a warm welcome, yet managed to score some past the net.
With the new signings raining in Barcelona, the striker’s position seems to have it all. After Robert Lewandowski and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Memphis, it was quite difficult for Braithwaite to manage between them as the chances of playing as a striker are far worse than they could have been in another team.
Before this transfer window closes, Braithwaite has made up his mind to leave but is yet to choose his new club which he has to do soon as the other club would want to examine and keep a backup as well. The striker hasn’t had enough chances to play and showcase at this club.
Barcelona’s abundance of strikers
After Luis Suarez left the Catalan side, the club has been desperate for strikers, trying new players and big players at the position to see who could actually fit. The club now seems to have an abundance in the striking position. Having a player like Rober Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Memphis, and the young Ferran Torres.
The chances of playing at the striking position have become worse, and Ferran being young has played a good amount of games, but in big opportunities, they must keep Lewandowski as the only option and release other strikers. As the Polish striker is one of the best in the world at the moment.
Barcelona’s abundance has created a problem for the other strikers and fear of losing the dignity they had in the club. The position is set for Lewandowski to rule on and take Barca ahead in every competition possible.
