Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel has recently come out in defence of his player, Sadio Mane, after the latter was reported to have punched teammate Leroy Sane in the dressing room. Following Bayern’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City, the two Bavarians had a dispute at full-time.

Tuchel has since defended his player. Speaking out in a press conference, the German manager said, “I’m the first to defend him. I’ve known him for a long time and I only know him as a total professional.” He continued, “It was against the code of conduct, he acknowledged it and apologised.”

It is yet unclear what exactly caused the altercation. However, reports suggest that Sane had said something that invoked a response from the Senegalese. Bayern Munich have suspended Mane, but are yet to impose any punishments on Sane.

Former footballer Diomansy Kamara has spoken out about the Sadio Mane incident. The Senegalese is a close friend of the former Liverpool winger, and has talked with him regarding the altercation with his teammate.

Kamara claims the words Sane said should never be spoken on the pitch. The Senegalese said, “I spoke with Sadio. What Leroy Sane said is serious and should not be said on a field. I will not speak for him or his staff, we will see but I expected the sanctions to be fair.” However, due to respect for the German’s father, Kamara refused to go into details.

According to reports, Bayern Munich are considering selling Sadio Mane in the summer, despite signing him a year ago. Reports coming from the German giants are suggesting that they could sack the Senegalese.
