In a new series of events, rumours have been coming up that Bayern Munich could sign Cristiano Ronaldo to replace Robert Lewandowski should the pole leave for Barcelona this summer.

However, Bayern Munich’s director Salihamidzic has denied these rumours saying “Cristiano Ronaldo is a top player with an outstanding career. However, stories on potential deal with Bayern are NOT true”

Cristiano Ronaldo committed to staying at Old Trafford next season

With Manchester United finishing 6th in the Premier League and into the Europa League, most expected Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the club in search of Champions League football.

However, the 37-year-old has since shown his loyalty and determination by confirming that he will stay at United and help them get back to their previous glory.

Last season, Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the only stand-out performers for Manchester United. The Portuguese scored 24 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions while also providing 3 assists. He also won Manchester United’s player of the season award.

While a move to Bayern Munich would definitely be tempting, Bayern would be more interested in signing a younger striker as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The polish forward is adamant on leaving the Bavarians.

Cristiano Ronaldo would be the perfect replacement for Robert Lewandowski but would demand higher wages and only prove to be a short-term answer. At 37, while he is at peak fitness, he is still not the same as he was before.

Eric ten Hag has also confirmed that he is excited to work with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United and the duo could really spark a revival for the club to get them back on the top and compete for trophies.
