His choice drove many social media fans to discuss potentially aligning with his future club. He named Barcelona’s iconic pair, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho, as the players who inspire him the most.
It doesn’t come as a surprise, given that the two players had extremely great careers and achieved feats that were among the best of their respective times. Lionel Messi has an astonishing 672 goals and 303 assists in 778 games in his career and is the recipient of seven Ballon d’Or awards.
With his recent historic campaign at the Qatar World Cup, winning Argentina’s first World Cup since 1986, he turned heads towards his talents even at 36. On the other hand, Ronaldinho was one player often regarded as someone who made people fall in love with the sport.
His infectious charisma, dazzling skills, and magical football left an indelible mark at Barcelona from 2003 to 2008. During this period, he contributed 94 goals and 70 assists in 207 games, winning the Ballon d’Or award in 2005.
Jamal Musiala has been lauded for his choice of idols because he can replicate their successes with his talents. Musiala had earlier mentioned how Messi’s playing style influenced him. His elegance on and off the ball and his swift moves throughout the rival defenses have drawn a close eye to the young talent. Musiala is undoubtedly poised for a promising career, and his fans are eager to see how well he can stand up to the expectations set for him.
Bayern Munich midfielder admits his idol is Barcelona’s Xavi
The stories between Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona could be etched in football history. With Robert Lewandowski moving from the Allianz Arena to the Camp Nou earlier. It has also inspired other players to do the same. Even David Alaba moved to Spain with Real Madrid, ending his love affair with the German Giants.
Recently, Bayern’s 28-year-old midfielder Joshua Kimmich confessed on the club’s YouTube channel that he idolized Barcelona’s current boss, Xavi Hernandez, while growing up. “He had an eye for the game, passing, technique,” Kimmich said about the ex-Barcelona midfielder.
While Barcelona has been interested in the versatile midfielder, their financial conditions have hampered their hopes of putting forth a bid. Even Kimmich’s importance to Bayern stands in the way of a potential move. However, with the midfielder moving in the last year of his contract, Barcelona and Xavi must be getting their hopes up again.
