Real Madrid pipped Osasuna to win their 20th Copa Del Rey trophy on Saturday, which was Karim Benzema’s 25th in the Spanish capital. This meant that the former French is now the join-highest trophy winner for his club, a podium he shares with Marcelo. Benzema is also second in the list of goalscorers for the club behind none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both Marcelo and Benzema are two of the greatest players in the history of Real Madrid. Both players have contributed to the success of the club in numerous amounts of time. The Brazilian was the mainstay for Los Blancos for almost 15 years since his signing in 2007 from Gremio. His partnership with Ronaldo has also been a thing of fairytales.
Now the Frenchman equals the records of Marcelo and has won 25 titles same as the Brazilian player. Benzema has won five Club World Cups, five Champions League, four La Liga, three Copa Del Rey, four Spanish Cups, and four European Supercups.
Marcelo has also won the same number of titles for Real Madrid. As Benzema continues to play for the club he is excepted to win more titles for the club and surpass the numbers of Marcelo.
