Brazilian footballer Antony has been dropped from the national team. Following allegations of domestic violence by his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, pressure mounted on the FA. Manchester United‘s Antony is being investigated by Sao Paulo Police and Greater Manchester Police for alleged domestic violence. The accusations from his former girlfriend include threats, a headbutt, and damage to her breast implant.
She claims he tried to hit her with a glass bowl, causing finger cuts as she defended herself. Antony, however, has denied all these allegations and stated on social media that the accusations are false. He acknowledged that his relationship with Cavallin was tumultuous but asserted his innocence, expressing confidence in the ongoing police investigations.
Manchester United declined to comment on the matter, and there has been no official response from Greater Manchester Police. As a result of these allegations, Antony will miss Brazil’s World Cup qualifying games against Bolivia and Peru. The CBF removed Antony from the national team to ensure a thorough investigation and protect the alleged victim.
In his place, coach Fernando Diniz has called up Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus for the upcoming international window. Brazil is preparing for World Cup qualifiers, and the allegations against Antony complicate the situation.
Brazil summon their three ‘Gabriels’

Brazilian football fans rejoice as Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Gabriel Martinelli rejoin the national squad. Their call-up for the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru highlights their talent and resilience.
Gabriel Magalhaes’ absence from the Qatar World Cup raised questions. Still, his decision to prioritize staying with his partner during the pregnancy of their first child reflects his dedication and personal values. His return to the national setup will bolster Brazil’s defense and provide additional depth to the squad.
Gabriel Martinelli’s journey has been equally impressive, with the young Arsenal star earning his place in the national team through consistent performances. Martinelli earned his spot in the squad with good contributions during the World Cup despite facing injury issues. As these talented Gabriels prepare to represent Brazil, football fans worldwide eagerly await their performances on the international stage.
