Brazilian footballer Antony has been dropped from the national team. Following allegations of domestic violence by his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, pressure mounted on the FA. Manchester United‘s Antony is being investigated by Sao Paulo Police and Greater Manchester Police for alleged domestic violence. The accusations from his former girlfriend include threats, a headbutt, and damage to her breast implant.

She claims he tried to hit her with a glass bowl, causing finger cuts as she defended herself. Antony, however, has denied all these allegations and stated on social media that the accusations are false. He acknowledged that his relationship with Cavallin was tumultuous but asserted his innocence, expressing confidence in the ongoing police investigations.

Manchester United declined to comment on the matter, and there has been no official response from Greater Manchester Police. As a result of these allegations, Antony will miss Brazil’s World Cup qualifying games against Bolivia and Peru. The CBF removed Antony from the national team to ensure a thorough investigation and protect the alleged victim.
