Brazilian legend leaves Cristiano Ronaldo out of his list of football GOATs
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo was not mentioned in the Brazilian legend’s remarks about a “unique group” that comprised some of the greatest players in the history of the sport. Ronaldo currently has enough issues to cope with at United because Erik Ten Hag has left him off the first-team squad after he refused to make an appearance in the 2-0 victory over Spurs this week.
To make matters worse, he is no longer included on a select list of football legends. Speaking exclusively to The Guardian, Brazillian Ronaldo identified the players he believes to be the best of all time.
“I think there is a very, very special group where you have Diego, Messi, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Pelé, Van Basten, Ronaldinho,” said Ronaldo. “I would include myself. Let the fans say, let them debate it in the bars. But you can’t rank them, can’t compare generations.”
It was quite surprising that the Brazillian Ronaldo left Cristiano in the greatest of all-time debate as the Portuguese was the one who replaced his No. 9 at Real Madrid as he eventually went on to wear his symbolic CR7 for the Los Blancos after Raul’s departure to Shalke.

Brazillian ‘Phenomenon’ was an idol for many footballers including Cristiano Ronaldo’s growing up
One of the best players to ever grace the beautiful game is Ronaldo Nazario. Over the course of his illustrious career, he won two Ballon d’Or awards and two World Cups. At the age of 21, he became the youngest recipient of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award in 1997, setting a record that has stood firm to this day.
He retired in 2011 with more than 400 goals for his career, but regrettably, knee injuries sustained while playing for Inter Milan ended his career. Speaking about his career, a documentary named “The Phenomenon” that examines Ronaldo’s incredible club and international football career has just been released on DAZN.
