Breaking: Manchester United reach verbal agreement to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United are set to sign former Inter Milan midfielder, Christian Eriksen on a free transfer this summer, warding off interest from other Premier League clubs like Tottenham and Brentford.

The 30-year-old will sign a 3-year contract valid until June 2025 and the club just await the medicals and signing to conform to their second signing of the season. New Manchester United boss, Eric ten Hag played an important role in convincing the player.

Christian Eriksen is set to become Manchester United’s second signing of the season

After confirming the signing of Tyrel Malacia just yesterday, the club have moved quickly to make Christian Eriksen their second signing of the season. They are still in talks with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong and have opened talks with Ajax for Lisandro Martinez and Antony.

After a very slow start to the summer, it seems the Red Devils are finally making some progress in strengthening the team. The club starts their pre-season today and will want their new signings to be part of it as soon as possible.

Christian Eriksen has been one of the most creative midfielders in the Premier League over the years. He was a vital part of Tottenham Hotspurs’ set-up before his move to Inter Milan. In 237 Premier League appearances, the midfielders have managed 52 goals and 71 assists.
