BREAKING: Pele hospitalized in Brazil with his condition ‘worsening’

Brazilian football legend and icon Pele has been hospitalized again in the middle of a cancer battle. Reports suggest that Pele has been admitted to a hospital in Brazil today. The former veteran footballer is suffering from heart problems.

Pele was rushed to the Albert Einstein hospital in Brazil by his wife Marcia Aoki. According to ESPN Brazil, Pele arrived at the hospital premises unscheduled with swellings all over his body. The doctors describe his situation to be worsening as the Brazil icon battles for life and death.

Reports state that the medical staff at the hospital described Pele’s situation as decompensated heart failure, as the former Brazil footballer arrived at the hospital in an anxious state. The 82-year-old will be further assessed by the medical facilities.

Pele’s health has been under distress for a couple of years now, as the Brazil legend has been in and out of the hospital a lot in recent months. In 2021, Pele had surgery to remove a tumor formed in his colon. His daughter, Kelly Nascimento, posted on Instagram to give the Brazil fans an update on the footballer’s condition.

One of the greatest football players to ever grace the game, Pele has been influential for Brazil for his entire professional career. Pele made his senior team debut for Brazil in 1957 and played over 90 matches for his country.

Apart from being one of the best goalscorers in the game, Pele also won the FIFA World Cup with Brazil thrice. The Brazilian legend lifted the golden trophy in 1958, 1962, and 1970. Surely one of the most influential players in this sport.
