Brendan Rodgers contract’s unique clause which might save him from getting sacked from Leicester city
Brendan Rodgers is currently the bookies’ favourite to be the next manager fired from the Premier League after a disastrous start to the 22/23 season that saw the Foxes earn just one point out of a possible 21 so far. The chairman of Leicester, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, and the director of football, Jon Rudkin, are reportedly planning to decide on the Northern Irishman’s future over the course of the upcoming international break.
The Sun claims that Leicester might be unable to pay Rodgers the £10 million severance compensation stipulated in his contract because of their present financial difficulties, which could prohibit them from firing him.
Leicester are closely examining the financial impact of letting Rodgers go because he still has three years on his deal and is one of the highest paid managers in the Premier League. Rodgers was already dealing with a lot of strain going into Saturday’s game against Tottenham Hotspur after the Foxes’ 5-2 away defeat to Brighton at the Amex stadium the week before.

Leicester City had been underwhelming this season under Brendan Rogers
Despite a good first-half performance, Spurs easily defeated Leicester 6-2 in the second half. Six straight losses for Rodgers’ squad have raised serious concerns about his job security.
After the defeat by Spurs, Rodgers said: “I know how football works and I totally understand the frustration of the supporters. I cannot hide from that because it’s my responsibility. Losing the last six games doesn’t make great reading but whatever happens to me here at Leicester, I will always respect this club.”
Rodgers has advanced Leicester about as far as he can since being hired in February of 2019. He led the team to its first FA Cup victory and two fifth-place finishes, as well as a journey to the semifinals of the Europa Conference League.
