Brighton creates history after defeating Chelsea, breaks 122-year-old record
Brighton makes an unbelievable come back to create history while Chelsea fails to register a single point in last two premier league games.
Chelsea saw their third defeat in a row in all competitions under new manager Frank Lampard. The Frank Lampard side was defeated by Brighton and Hove Albion by 2-1 in Stamford Bridge for the first time in Brighton’s 122 years club span. The seagulls created history tonight in West London after beating the Blues.
The West London side took a lead with Connor Gallagher’s deflected goal in the 13th minute of the match. The effort of the Blue to take the lead went in vain with the goal from substitute Danny Welbeck right before halftime. Julio Enciso sealed the coffin in the 69th minute of the game to seal the game for Roberto De Zerbi. The consecutive defeat in matches led to Frank Lampard giving a negative post-match interview
The history created by the Italian’s side pushed the Seagulls to the 7th position over Liverpool. The team played two games less than Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur who are placed in the fifth and sixth positions. Brighton got a brilliant run securing three wins in the last five games. The team only lost once in the last five games.
On the other hand the Chelsea side got a consecutive defeat of 3 games. The defeat in the Chelsea camp added oil to the fire of the Champions League defeat against Real Madrid. The fans were seen booing the Blue’s boss Todd Boehly who was present in the stadium. The fans said the American owner is the problem rather than the coaches.
Luis Enrique is dissatisfied with Todd Boehly on Lampard being appointed as Interim boss.
Spanish manager Luis Enrique is reportedly dissatisfied with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. The former Barcelona manager was open to joining in as the Chelsea boss after Graham Potter was sacked from the post.
It was reported that Lucho reportedly flew to England to have a talk with the Chelsea board. He was one of the leading contenders for Chelsea boss. Things didn’t turn out positive for the Spanish boss as Julian Nagelsmann entered the race after Bayern Munich sacked him.
The former Champions League winner at Barcelona wanted to join the post immediately. Reports say that the Blues wanted to win till May before making a decision regarding a permanent manager.
While Julian Nagelsmann was asked to wait till next summer Enrique was turned down by the West London club’s hierarchy. Further appointing their former player Frank Lampard as their interim coach for the season made Luis upset over Todd Boehly.
