Brighton’s Billy Gilmour was ‘unable to sleep’ after being stalked for months by Instagram influencer

Brighton and Hove Albion star Billy Gilmour has confessed that a stalker has left him so traumatised that he now needs sleeping pills to sleep at night. Orla Sloan, an Instagram influencer, messaged Gilmour several times following a party.

Gilmour was scared and unable to sleep as a result of the deluge of texts. Orla also made bogus claims about being pregnant by the Premier League player, , who joined the south coast club from Chelsea for £9 million.

The Scotland international said: “This has had a very negative impact on me; I have been unable to sleep and have had to resort to taking sleeping tablets. This has had a negative effect on my performances. During the time I consistently received messages from Orla I was in a new town where I didn’t know anyone or have any friends or family.”

“This was a person I met once for a very brief period of time. The change in tone in her messages to try and get my attention was particularly worrying. The attacks from Orla have damaged relationships and friendships I already had,” he added.

Billy Gilmour was not her only victim

Sloan’s targets did not stop with Billy Gilmour. She has admitted to preying on Gilmour and his former Chelsea teammates Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell. Orla Sloan, 22, dubbed ‘Devil Baby,’ began a scary campaign following a house party at Chilwell’s house.

Sloan message Gilmour on Instagram after the party, prompting the midfielder to raise concerns with Brighton, who increased security. On Wednesday, the 22-year-old was granted unconditional bail after admitting to two acts of stalking and one of harassment without violence at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Mason Mount slept with Sloan once after meeting at a party in Chilwell’s home in late 2020 Mount and Sloan continued in contact irregularly for a number of months, before the Manchester United target “decided that the relationship was not going to progress.”

She then began stalking him from June 19, 2022 to October 28, as well as his old Chelsea teammate Gilmour from September 10 to October 28. Moreover, from October 20 and October 29, 2022, she harassed Chilwell.
