Burnley took on Wolves in the Premier League on Tuesday night as Turf Moor was witness to a fight for survival by the home side. The hosts were however, without a significant chunk of their supporters as club management chose to evacuate them. While many were puzzled as to why the club would make such a decision, X posts that surfaced momentarily afterwards clarified why the club chose to do so.
As per pictures shared by fans on X, several of them noticed a dangerously loose piece of metal hanging from the roof prior to kick-off. As nothing was done to take off the same, the club made the decision to evacuate the Jimmy Mcllroy stand. Hundreds of fans were either made to sit at lower levels or given access to the Fan Zone to watch the rest of the game.

The club later issued a statement clarifying the same, in which they pointed to safety concerns with the roof for their decision. They also thanked the fans for their co-operation and patience through the entire process.
Despite the unfortunate incident, spirits were high throughout the game. Burnley picked up an important point against Wolves, ensuring that they stayed unbeaten in their last four games.
After Chelsea draw, Burnley remain resolute against strong Wolves side
Vincent Kompany‘s men have been stuck at the lower end of the Premier League table for a larger part of this season. Despite four back-to-back games without picking up a single point, the club have done extremely well to remain unbeaten in their last four. Despite playing games against Chelsea and Wolves in the process, the club impressed fans by picking up six points in their last four outings.

Tuesday nights game against Wolves was no different, as the home side managed to take the lead in the 37th minute. Jacob Bruun Larsen struck home from an exquisite volley to put his team in front before half-time. Burnley managed to keep out their opponents up until the half-time mark, as Rayan Ait-Nouri headed the ball past Arijanet Muric.
His leaping header gave Wolves a way back into the game just before half-time. The second-half saw Burnley go all in to try and steal a win.
This however, was spoiled by the line referee, as he called for offside on a late goal from the hosts. As the game ended one goal apiece, Burnley remain 19th, with as many points in 31 games. Wolves on the other hand are tenth, with 42 points.
