Buyako Saka ‘accepts responsibility’ for Arsenal’s draw against West Ham, offers apology to fans after missing crucial penalty
The miss could prove to be crucial in the Premier League title race.

Arsenal‘s Bukayo Saka took to social media to apologize for missing a penalty against West Ham United. The Englishman’s miss turned out to be a pivotal moment in the game as Arsenal drew 2-2 against the Hammers.
The 21 year old took to Instagram to post the following message: “Regardless of the outcome, I’ll always accept my responsibility. Apologies Gunners, I’ll do everything I can to make it right.”
Arsenal scored two goals early on in the game, putting them in the driver’s seat for a comfortable win. However, West Ham had other ideas as they scored a goal in each half to earn a well deserved point.
The result could prove to be decisive in the title race as we march towards the final few games of the season. Manchester City currently sit at second, four points behind the Gunners with a game in hand. The two clubs face each other on April 26 at the Etihad Stadium in a potentially title deciding match.

Mikel Arteta reacts to Arsenal’s draw against West Ham

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was left fuming after the club dropped points to West Ham United. The Spaniard was clearly the unhappiest man in the stadium as a Jarrod Bowen equalizer proved to be pivotal in sharing the spoils.
Speaking about the team’s performance, Arteta stated: “Very disappointing. The way we started was superb again, we were in total control, then we lost purpose. We gave them hope, conceded a terrible penalty, then credit to them.”
He further emphasized on the club’s lack of purpose after conceding the second goal, stating: “We got on the roller coaster where everything is going, corners and throw ins, and we never got away from that. The purpose we needed for third and fourth goal, I didn’t see it.”
Arsenal host Southampton on April 22 before traveling to Manchester City to play in potentially the title-deciding game. They currently sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
