Kylian Mbappe has been linked to a move with Real Madrid for the past two seasons. Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez is said to be a great admirer of the Frenchman. When Perez was quizzed about Mbappe’s transfer to Real on Sunday, he responded that he is very calm about the whole saga and actually is focused on elections.

“Mbappé? Today it’s time to vote for the elections. Calm? I’m always calm,” said Perez. These remarks from Perez have stirred up a buzz amongst the supporters. Florentino Perez used a similar phrase, of being calm last back in the year 2000, as he was quizzed on signing Luis Figo from arch-rivals Barcelona.

Figo was eventually signed by Real Madrid from their Catalan rivals. Perez was the mastermind behind the move. Now with him using the same phrase again, football fans are expecting history to repeat itself and Real Madrid to sign Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe has been placed on PSG’s transfer list as they aim to sell the Frenchman. Mbappe’s dream is to play for the Los Blancos, with speculation that personal terms between the club and the player have already been agreed for a 2024 transfer. But now with PSG looking keen to sell the player this season, Real may step up and get the Frenchman in 2023 itself.

Kylian Mbappe’s possible transfer might cause Real Madrid to axe one of their stars

Real Madrid are the favorites to sign Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman wants to move to the Bernabeu and is forcing his way out of his current club PSG. PSG has put him on the transfer list and now Real is eyeing to sign him this summer.

Mbappe prefers to play on the right wing and would be deployed as a winger in Real Madrid’s formation. This will result in current winger Rodrygo dropping to the bench. Rodrygo has plenty of fight for other positions as Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham both can take over his secondary position as a number 10.  And as Real has spent plenty this summer, they may move Rodrygo to raise funds.

Real has splashed the cash to get Jude Bellingham this summer already. They expected to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer next year but PSG is selling the player this year. Real may thus sell Rodrygo to create space and raise money for an incoming Kylian Mbappe.
