While Kylian Mbappe is considered to be one of the fastest players in the beautiful game, how does he fare against the fastest human being, Usain Bolt? A Youtube channel has attempted to simulate the possibility and has come up with a plausible answer to the question.
A study from October 2022 by the Sun revealed that PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is the world’s fastest player. He has a top speed of 10.6 meters per second. This equates to 22.4 mph. Bolt, the world’s fastest man, on the other hand, has the record of completing a 100m race in 9.58 seconds. He set that record back in 2009.
Can the 2018 World Cup winner overtake that? A YouTube channel called Speed Showdown created a simulation to check whether Mbappe can overtake Usain Bolt. The race starts with Mbappe having a promising beginning, which has been a feature for footballers for a long time. Since footballers depend a lot on burst of pace to beat their defenders, they are often the faster off the block. But soon, Bolt starts to surge ahead rapidly. Bolt gradually extends the distance between them and ultimately crosses the finish line with his exceptional record-breaking time.
Afterward, Mbappe completes the race in a commendable 10.9 seconds and this stat alone can turn defenders in their sleep. But he still falls short of beating the Jamaican “lightning bolt”.
Will Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid next season?
A saga that never seems to come to an end, PSG player Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid might not happen again this summer. The move seems more and more complex to make for the Spanish giants with each passing day.
According to Foot Mercato, Mbappe is due to receive big bonuses (around €90m ) for extending his stay at PSG this summer. He does not want to lose the bonus he is due to receive at PSG, hence a move to the Spanish capital is unlikely this summer. He wants to stay at the club for another season before leaving for free next summer.
Meanwhile, there hasn’t been a meeting yet between the Mbappe & PSG camp which is expected to be scheduled soon. The club would want a fee of around €180m to €200m if they put him on sale this summer. One thing Mbappe would be wary of is going to be his age. The 24-year-old is capable of winning it all in the game however, his stay in the French capital might restrict his ceiling.
