Carlo Ancelotti indirectly shut down all Kylian Mbappe transfer rumors on Thursday after Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Manchester United in a friendly. The Frenchman is transfer listed by PSG and sits on an offer from Al Hilal. However, as per multiple reports, Kylian Mbappe wants to move to Los Blancos. But, manager Ancelotti clearly signaled that the 24-year-old is not a part of his plans at the moment.
A reporter in a recent press conference on Thursday enquired about the status of the Mbappe deal. Ancelotti replied curtly and shortly. He said, “The Squad is great and complete. Next Question!” This certainly hinted that Real is done shopping this summer window.
Real Madrid already have an agreement in principle for the signing of Mbappe. The club and the player have agreed on a summer 2024 transfer when Mbappe is a free agent. The club will not spend money to secure his transfer this summer.
Mbappe also has his heart set on the move to Madrid. He has been a dedicated club fan since he was a kid. Mbappe has reportedly denied a 700 million salary for a yearly contract at Al Hilal, the Saudi Arabian heavyweights.
Kylian Mbappe refuses to negotiate with Al Hilal, turns down €700M in wages for a year
Earlier this week, Al Hilal made an audacious offer of €700 million for Kylian Mbappe’s services, but the player swiftly rebuffed it. Mbappe, the 24-year-old French forward, is currently tied to PSG until 2024, and his name has been swirling in transfer gossip circles. PSG swiftly accepted Al Hilal’s lucrative bid of €300 million.
After agreeing with PSG, an Al-Hilal delegation approached Mbappé in Paris to pitch their enticing proposal. Their offer to the player was a staggering contract worth €700 million annually for one year. They also were ready to release Mbappe as a free agent to sign with Real Madrid in 2024.
Real Madrid, having pursued Mbappe for some time, remains confident that a transfer will occur quickly once his PSG contract ends next summer. Keen to make a move, Mbappe has been shying away from negotiations and refused to engage with the Saudi delegation. Mbappe wants Santiago Bernabeu as his following location.
