Real Madrid might have struck gold with Aurelien Tchouameni. The Frenchman joined the club back in 2022 on a whopping €100 million transfer fee. The youngster has become a regular under Carlo Ancelotti and the Italian believes that the player is fit to play in more positions than just midfield. Ancelotti said that the 23-year-old can play as both midfielder and center-back.
Tchouameni made an appearance as a center-back back in October. The Frenchman was nothing short of impressive as he paired up with Antonio Rudiger in a 4-0 win against Osasuna. Following the game, Tchouameni shared his emotions on his socials.

However, he found himself paired with the former Chelsea man yet again as Nacho saw red against Deportivo Alavés.
Following the game, Ancelotti proceeded to make an ‘unusual’ claim about the midfielder.

Ancelotti joked that even though Tchouameni gets “angry” while playing out of position, his elite ball winning enables him to play in defense as well. After significant praise for his defensive attributes, Ancelotti assured that the #18’s future at Real is in its midfield.
Carlo Ancelotti backs the European Super League
Following the European Court of Justice’s ruling on Thursday, the footballing community has been divided. While many believe that European Super League is necessary to disrupt the ‘monopoly’, others claim that ‘merit must be earned on the pitch’. Carlo Ancelotti has sided with the Super League project, which shouldn’t come as a huge surprise as well. Club President Florentino Perez remains one of the biggest advocates of the ‘breakaway’ tournament.
Ancelotti underlined the tournament as an important decision for all the clubs. He added that taking away the monopoly held by UEFA will only benefit clubs in the long run. The Italian, however, chose to reserve his opinions about the proposed Super League format. He reiterated that the decision will be ‘very good’ for football. He also emphasized how this new tournament will improve the international calendar.
A22 CEO Bernd Reichart expressed the competition’s desire to create a competition loved by fans in Europe and around the world. He also announced that all Super League games will be free to watch for the fans. Founding clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona are also set to pocket a ‘loyalty bonus’ of around €1 billion for staying in the project.
