“I lied to you,” Carlo Ancelotti shares cheeky moment with Real Madrid players after 4-0 victory over Barcelona
The Los Blancos hammered the Catalans at the Camp Nou
Carlo Ancelotti was seen joking with his squad after their win over FC Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey. Real Madrid defeated Barcelona in a 4-0 demolition over the Catalans at Camp Nou, winning 4-1 on aggregate. Apparently, the Italian manager had managed to trick his squad into believing they were playing a final.
In the dressing room following the win, Ancelotti exclaimed, “I lied to you, this wasn’t the final, this was the semi-final. We still have to play the final!” This was followed by a laugh from the record four-time Champions League-winning manager.
The Madrid club have successfully reached its first Copa Del Rey final in nine years. The Galacticos will face off against CA Osasuna at the Estadio de La Cartuja for the trophy on the 6th of May.

Back to back hat-tricks for Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema once again starred in Real Madrid’s four-goal victory over Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey. The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner scored a hat-trick as his team ripped apart the Catalans to go through to the final.
The Frenchman became the first Real Madrid player to score a hat-trick in the El Clasico at Camp Nou since Ferenc Puskas in 1963. Benzema had added another 3 goals to his tally against Valladolid in La Liga on Sunday.
The five-time Champions League winner surpassed Raul to become the fourth-highest goal scorer in El Clasicos. Benzeman is in an elite company on that list. The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Alfredo Di Stefano and Hugo Sanchez make up the rest of the top four.
