Tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz clinched victory against the legendary Novak Djokovic in the Riyadh Season Tennis Cup Exhibition match. The Spaniard came from a set down to win the match-up 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Even though the duo were all smiles after the clash, the two have been facing off in tense clashes in recent times. Following Alcaraz’s victory, Saudi club Al-Nassr did not forget to congratulate the youngster.

Al-Nassr were quick to congratulate the tennis star, who has made it no secret to express his interest in the sport. The club sent him a gift in the form of a jersey gifted by their Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte. The club then shared a picture of the tennis star posing with his very own #1 Alcaraz jersey. Al-Nassr also invited Alcaraz to watch a game at Al-Awwal Stadium, their home ground.

Aymeric Laporte also retweeted the post and replied ‘One of our ours ???’ to the same. Alcaraz recently made headlines in the football community for hitting Cristiano Ronaldo‘s trademark ‘SIUU’ celebration.

He also shared his amusement at meeting Lionel Messi during the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony. He also said before the tournament in Riyadh that he keeps tabs on Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr demolish Al-Ittihad in Saudi Pro League

Al-Nassr traveled to the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium to face Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. The clash which took place on Tuesday featured a match-up between Cristiano Ronaldo and his old strike partner Karim Benzema. Even though the home side took the lead early on, Al-Nassr quickly got into shape, overturning the one-goal deficit within 24 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the 19th minute before Anderson Talisca gave them the lead. Abderrazak Hamdallah pulled his side level before Cristiano secured his brace from the spot. Sadio Mane then netted a brace as the game ended 2-5 in Al-Nassr’s favor.

The club based in Riyadh are currently second in the Saudi Pro League, 7 points behind table toppers Al-Hilal. The club now face Al-Taawoun before the year ends. Afterward, the much-awaited clash with Lionel Messi‘s Inter Miami is set to happen on the 1st of February. Cristiano Ronaldo ends 2023 as the club’s top scorer with 19 goals and 9 assists in 17 league matches.
