Catalan government angry at Real Madrid over ‘insulting’ video targeting Barcelona, calls it ‘crude manipulation of history’

The government of Catalunya are annoyed at Real Madrid for posting a video alleging Catalans ‘named’ dictator Francisco Franco an honorary member of club in 1955. The Merengues also claimed that their rivals have ‘decorated’ the dictator with three medals. The Catalan government claimed the video to be “offensive, irresponsible & insulting“. The Blaugranas want the videos to be taken down and rectified by the Los Blancos. The Catalans also want Real Madrid to make a formal apology for posting fabricated histories and defaming the club. 

Things started when the president of Blaugrana Joan Laporta said how Real Madrid has always been a part of the referee scandal. Previously Real Madrid allegedly said they would give a statement in the Nagreira case. The Real Madrid board posted a video on their official tweeter page showing Barcelona winning eight league titles during the rule of the dictator. It portrayed that the Blaugrana was saved from Bankruptcy with the help of the dictator.

Real Madrid has not only posted a video that showed Barcelona getting linked with Dictator Francisco  Franco. While the caption read that Barcelona has not only ‘named’ the dictator an honorary member of the club but also decorated him with 3 medals. Catalan government condemning the video claims it a ‘manipulation of history’ directing Los Blancos’ connection with the ‘El Generale’.

The spokesperson from the government claimed the news to be false. ” It is such a crude manipulation of history that it seems to come from a manual,” said spokesperson Patricia Plaja while addressing the same. Real Madrid and Barcelona do not share a very smooth relationship. Barcelona is currently waiting to see how the waves of the Nagreira scandal take place.

RB Leipzig’s forward Dani Olmo wants a move to Barcelona over Real Madrid. Real Madrid has been scouting the player for a long time. The player had a commendable performance during his campaigns for his National Team. 

The 24-year is also linked to Manchester United and other Premier League clubs. Reports say that the player is not interested in moving to England but to La Liga from Bundesliga. It is also reported that the president of Blaugrana also wants the player back in Barcelona as soon as possible. 

The forward was a part of the youth team of Barcelona before moving to RB Leipzig. Real Madrid wants to proceed with the transfer next season. The interest of the player shows he is keener to join Los Blancos’ arch-rival Barcelona next season. ‘It will always be a home for me. A lot of my friends from the national team play there. I want to come back sometime, it will be great(to Spain)’ said the RB Leipzig forward.” 

The player had contributed to four goals for RB Leipzig this season, playing 24 matches.  The player has shown love for Barcelona and Spain. It is now a wait of time to see what happens in near future.
