Bayern Munich are once again regarded as possible favourite this season, and they made the ideal start to their Group C campaign last week, recording a 2-0 win over Inter, with Leroy Sane scoring the opening goal before Danilo D’Ambrosio’s own goal gave the hosts a 2-0 defeat.
However, Bayern have not won the Bundesliga since August 21, drawing their last three matches against Borussia Monchengladbach, Union Berlin, and Stuttgart. Stuttgart earned a point in a 2-2 draw against Bayern on Saturday after twice leading the group, so the German giants are not fully functioning early in the campaign.
Bayern also faced Barcelona in the group stages of the 2021-22 competition and won both games, 3-0 in Munich and 3-0 away, and they have not lost to Barcelona since 2014, winning the last four clashes between the two teams.

Bayern Munich haven’t got any fitness issues heading into this match, despite the fact that they will be without Kingsley Coman and Bouna Sarr. The German champions are not expected to make any changes to the starting XI that faced Stuttgart last weekend.
Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez will return to the defence, while Sane and Sadio Mane will be back in the final third of the pitch. Gnabry may start in place of Coman, so Mane may play as a centre-forward for the hosts here.
On the other hand, Barcelona have taken 25 players to Munich for this match, with Sergi Roberto included after missing the game against Cadiz on Saturday with a slight muscular problem. Xavi has several dilemmas in defence, particularly at the back, if there are no late issues.

It’s tough to count against Bayern at home, so we’ve decided on a cautious approach here. Barcelona are on a hot streak right now, but we think a draw is the safest option. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if Bayern won, but we believe this will be a close match between two tough teams.
