Chelsea and PSG ready to enter race to sign Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski if his Barcelona move collapse: Reports

Robert Lewandowski

Barcelona’s financial constraints mean that they might find it difficult to pay a transfer fee to Bayern Munich for their star striker, Robert Lewandowski. They have already agreed to a £63 million move to sign Raphinha from Leeds United meaning the club must sell before they can buy.

Hence, it is possible that even after agreeing on personal teams with Robert Lewandowski, the club fail to sign the player by the end of that summer transfer window. Bayern Munich is anyways reluctant to sell Lewandowski but could the player could force a move.

Should his move to Barcelona fail, reports suggest that Chelsea and PSG could ignite interest in the polish forward. While the London club is in need of a proper no. 9, PSG is likely to make a move should they sell Neymar in the transfer window.

Reports also suggest that the Polish marksman would prefer a move to the London club over PSG should his move to Spain bear no fruit. Barcelona is not set on giving up their pursuit but Bayern will demand a one-time fee payment, something Barcelona could struggle with.

As for the Blues, they could definitely finance a move for the 33-year-old. The club agreed on a £50 million move to sign Raphinha but the Brazilain seems set on joining Barcelona, as a result, Chelsea could use the funds to make a move for Robert Lewandowski.

Robert Lewandowski is adamant about a move away from Germany after 12 years in the country, 8 of which were spent with the Bavarian giants. In that time Rober Lewandowksi managed 344 goals and 74 assists, playing 375 games for the club and winning numerous trophies.

However, Robert Lewandowski knows that his playing days are now numbered and this is his last chance to secure a big move to another country. While his contract is up at the end of the season, he wants a move now and wished Bayern to respect his choice. It will be interesting to see where Lewndowksi ends up should his move to Barcelona collapsed.
