The defending champions will now face Morocco in the Semi-finals.
Former Chelsea ace Didier Drogba extended his support for the English captain, urging him not to get saddened by the loss and to look at the bigger picture to overcome the hurt. “It will hurt (Harry Kane) but you are a true captain and leader..” said Drogba appreciating Kane’s efforts in bringing his team to the mark. “Really like the way you played during this World Cup, an example for strikers to watch: score, assist, hold and lead!!” He added.
“It will take time to get over it, but this will make you stronger,” The Ivory Coast legend boosted the confidence that the English captain might have lost in buckets after losing the game. He officially took responsibility for the country’s loss. Harry Kane posted a short note on his social media urging fans to forgive him and thanking them for their continuous support. The match could have been saved had Harry Kane converted the chance from the spot.
England’s dream of bringing it home currently rides on the back of France, who is nonetheless confident and elated for making it to the semi-finals after winning the previous edition of the Prestigious golden cup. France is set to face Morocco next in the Semi-finals and might seal their target of going to back-to-back finals of the big event. At the same time, Kane will lead his fellow players in preparation for the Premier League.
