Chelsea season ticket holder banned for abusing Heung Min Son
Heung Min Son and Chelsea
Following racial taunts directed against Tottenham’s South Korean star Heung Min Son during the 2-2 Premier League tie at Stamford Bridge, a season ticket holder has been given an indefinite suspension by Chelsea.
Heung Min Son endured disgusting insults from a spectator during the tumultuous London derby last Sunday. The season ticket holder has been banned by Chelsea after an investigation. Following our statement this week on racist abuse at the Tottenham game last Sunday, Chelsea Football Club can confirm that it has identified and banned a season ticket holder indefinitely, Chelsea statement said on Saturday.
Previous cases of racial abuse by Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge resulted in life bans. Before Sunday’s match against Spurs, the Blues launched their most recent move in the long-running No To Hate campaign, taking steps to make it simpler for supporters to report suspected abuse.

Chelsea’s earlier anti-racism initiatives
Raheem Sterling was playing for Manchester City at the time the incident occurred, and Chelsea handed temporary bans to five additional supporters in connection with the event in addition to a lifetime ban to the racist supporter.
In 2019, a Chelsea fan was detained for allegedly using racial slurs against Son during a match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. At the time, Chelsea center-back Antonio Rudiger also claimed that he heard monkey chants during that game.
Kick It Out, an anti-discrimination group, praised Chelsea for their response. In a statement, Troy Townsend, their head of player engagement, said: “We reaffirm that racism must not be accepted in our game or anywhere in our society. While investigations are underway, we are unable to comment on the facts of this instance.
