WWE Superstar, John Cena shared a photo of Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella on his Instagram following the London’s club loss against Brentford this past weekend.

After Chelsea lost 2-0 in a Premier League match, John Cena posted a picture of Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella on Instagram. This grabbed the attention of football fans on social media.

Some saw Cena’s post as mocking the club, while others interpreted it as poking fun at the player’s poor performance. Another group felt it was simply banter, with Cena sparing no one, not even the club.

Meanwhile, a new insight emerged and could be the real reason behind John Cena’s post. Marc Cucurella was asked earlier in the week – before the game against Brentford – which actor he would like to be portrayed by in a movie to which the fullback replied John Cena.

He additionally added:

I've always liked his combats and his career in WWE.

Some people have suspected that the WWE Superstar’s post is related to a question-and-answer session the player was a part of and has nothing to do with Chelsea‘s recent loss at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea takes on Blackburn Rovers next in the EFL Cup followed by a tough set of fixtures. They have take on league leaders Tottenham Hotspur, immediately followed by defending champions Manchester City.

Chelsea lose 2-0 against Brentford at Stamford Bridge

Following a 2-2 draw against Premier League contenders, Arsenal, Chelsea fans were hopeful and happy to see progress at the club in terms of getting results. However, their afternoon was different from what they expected as they conceded two goals against Thomas Frank‘s men, unable to score a goal of their own.

In the 58th minute, Ethan Pinnock’s header from a right-sided cross gave Brentford the lead. Despite Chelsea’s efforts, including more than double the shots of their opponents, they couldn’t find an equalizer. Brentford sealed the win with a counterattack goal in the final minute, Bryan Mbeumo finishing after a pass from Neil Maupay.

A loss this weekend will cause issues for Mauricio Pochettino as they take on several teams on the bounce, who are contenders for European football and/or the League title.
