Colombian football player removes shorts and exposes himself while defending a free-kick

Geisson Perea

In order to support his team during their match against Jaguares in Colombia’s first division, Santa Fe defender Geisson Perea took extraordinary steps. Perea and Carlos Sanchez, a former midfielder for Aston Villa built a defensive wall after Jaguares was given a free kick early in the game.

Geisson Perea strangely made the decision to pull his shorts down when the referee was standing right next to him, perhaps in an effort to delay his opponent from taking the free kick.

The incident took place with barely four minutes remaining in the game, and no goals having been scored. Surprisingly, it seems like the referees overlooked Perea’s antics entirely because the defender managed to depart without being booked. However, the entire deed was captured by the TV cameras.

Football fans are not happy with Geisson Perea

“Geisson Perea deserves to be sanctioned. Embarrassing and unpleasant act. Not a professional,” a fan stated. Another one said “Shame on that player Geisson Perea from Santa Fe lowering his uniform and showing the referee the one I told you about, Dimayor are we going with a sanction appointment?”

Perea, unfortunately, was unable to stop his team from losing the game. His team, or the Colombian FA have not responded to the free-kick incident, and it is unclear whether the defender will face retroactive punishment. Jaguares scored in the 94th minute to defeat Santa Fe 2-1 after Juan Camilo Aristazabal Gomez’s red card had reduced Santa Fe to ten men.
