Cristiano Ronaldo recently took a break from football to show his basketball talent. It was with the Portuguese National Team during the two-week international break. The official Portugal Football Team’s ‘X’ account shared a video captioned ‘Air Ronaldo’, where he’s seen making a basketball shot instead of his usual training.
Earlier this month, the 38-year-old athlete was called up for international duty by manager Roberto Martinez. It was for Portugal’s Euro Qualifiers against Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ronaldo’s performance in these two games was impressive as he scored four goals. Helping Portugal secure a spot in UEFA Euro 2024.
Cristiano Ronaldo, nearing the end of his career, aims for a second UEFA European Championship. Similar to how he did it in 2016 as he helped Portugal win their first international trophy. The triumph was then followed by a Nations League title in 2019.
Now, after seven years, he hopes to repeat that success. He’s Portugal’s top Euro scorer and has played in six editions of the tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s 40th goal of the year was celebrated by his club Al-Nassr
A chipped goal by Ronaldo against Bosnia, sealed his 40th of the calendar year making him the top-scorer of 2023 at the moment. Saudi club, Al-Nassr – where Cristiano currently plays – celebrated their striker’s achievement by bringing him a cake to commemorate his brilliant achievement.
Brought to him by his teammate, Ronaldo was smiling in the clip posted by Al-Nassr – garnering almost 50 Million views on ‘X’. The team took a group photo together to capture the celebratory moment. Ronaldo’s 40th goal of the year marks the 12th time in his career that the Portuguese has been able to score 40+ goals in a calendar year, scoring for Al-Nassr over 31 times since January.
With little over two months left to go, Ronaldo will be looking to add to his final goal tally as the Portuguese is competing in all competitions at club level. In a title race with Al-Nassr, contenders in the AFC Champions League and still having two games left of the UEFA Qualifiers, Ronaldo’s desire for goals will not let him stop just yet.
