Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo generated much controversy after he was seen making an indecent gesture by rubbing an Al-Hilal scarf off his crotch. The forward responded to repeated taunts by Al-Hilal fans during their 2-0 win against Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo’s side Al-Nassr had a dreadful night, after they lost to their city rivals Al-Hilal, in the Riyadh Season Cup. Al Hilal won 2-0 at the Kingdom Arena, owing to goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Salem Al-Dawsari. Ronaldo faced taunting from Al-Hilal fans, who chanted Lionel Messi‘s name, leaving him visibly frustrated. The 39-year-old also received a booking in the 2nd half for kicking the ball away into the crowd.

One of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s actions that caught everyone’s attention was during the half-time. The ex-Real Madrid star was moving towards the changing room when a rival fan threw an Al-Hilal scarf at him. To fans’ surprise, Ronaldo angrily wiped it on his crotch and hurled it back into the stands. This incident wasn’t the first time he had been taunted by Al-Hilal fans, a similar incident occurred in April the previous year.

Back in April 2023, during a match where Al-Hilal defeated Al-Nassr, Ronaldo displayed frustration by grabbing his crotch in response to teasing from fans. These repeated gestures have invited harsh criticism from the player.

Al-Hilal emerged victorious in the finals of the Riyadh Season Cup, which took place at the Kingdom Arena stadium in the Saudi Arabian capital. Hilal won by a scoreline of 2-0, as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Salem Al-Dawsari struck a goal each.

Following the loss, Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo looked dejected while collecting the runners-up medal. This marks the fifth consecutive victory for arch-rivals Al-Hilal over Al-Nassr in the Riyadh city derby. Both teams are fiercely competing for the Saudi PL title, with Al-Hilal currently leading the SPL table and Al-Nassr following closely in second place.

Last night’s match ended in a loss for Al-Nassr, despite the team dominating the match proceedings. The winning team secured victory with goals in the 17th minute by midfielder Milenkovic-Savic and in the 30th minute by captain Al-Dawsari. They appear well-positioned to claim major titles this season.
