Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo performed a brand new goal celebration, after scoring his first goal of the year 2024. Ronaldo scored the winning goal for Al-Nassr in the AFC Champions League first-leg round-of-16 clash against Al-Fayha.
The 39-year-old star scored in the 81st minute of the match. Collaborating with Marcelo Brozovic, he struck from the center of the penalty area, securing the only goal of the match for Al-Nassr against Al-Fayha. Al-Nassr took a valuable lead before the second leg against the fellow Saudi side. This goal, his 874th career goal, marked his first of the new year and coincided with his 1000th club appearance.
Following his goal on Wednesday, Ronaldo dashed towards the corner flag, initially indicating he might perform his iconic ‘Siu’ celebration by leaping into the air. However, instead of spinning with his arms outstretched, he chose to shut his eyes and bring both hands to his chest. The new celebration resembled superhero Black Panther’s Wakanda salute. The Portuguese star combined two of his most popular celebrations for his new one.
After bouncing back from last week’s disappointing loss to Al-Hilal, Ronaldo’s side will now shift their focus to facing Al-Fateh in the SPL. The return leg against Al-Fayha and Al-Nassr is scheduled for February 21 at the King Saud University Stadium.
