Cristiano Ronaldo is set to face his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante. As Al-Nassr prepare to take on Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League on the fourteenth of this month. Some would only argue if Al Ittihad were on the agenda of making a super team this season. They certainly strengthened the roster by making significant signings like Fabinho, Kante, and now Benzema.

The Jeddah club is the reigning champion. And have already amassed nine tiles in their history. With the signings they have made, it’s no surprise that they are certainly looking to challenge for the trophy again. Since Ronaldo arrived in Saudi, his influence has been on the show as many players are joining the Saudi league now. And also the Portuguese star’s inclusion in Al-Nassr‘s squad has seen the club improve.

Al Nassr have recently won their latest fixture 3-1 over Raja CA, where Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the nineteenth minute. Albeit their upcoming fixture might still be a fortnight away, but the hype around the biggest players playing against each other in Saudi Pro League is no less.

In the 46 times the clubs have played one another, Al Ittihad have got the better of their rivals. They have won 18 times as opposed to Al Nassr’s 14. Meanwhile, both sides have also played out 14 draws between them. Ronaldo will have to prove himself as the differentiator for the Saudi Club, or they will crumble over the former Ballon Dor winner’s performances.

Benzema’s unexpected move to the Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad

Karim Benzema completed a move to Al Ittihad after fourteen years with Real Madrid. His contract is set to last two years when he will be earning 200 million euros per season. He was expected to sign an extension at Madrid but instead followed Ronaldo to Saudi.

The current Ballon d’Or holder has had a bittersweet start to life in the middle east. As he has already missed a penalty while playing in the Saudi Classico. It is a fixture held between Al Hilal and Al Ittihad which unfortunately Benzema’s side lost 3-1.

It seems like the French star will be having a time worth remembering in the Middle East given his massive influence in the sport. The striker is seen as one of the best of his generation so everyone already has high expectations out of him.
