Though hampered by injury in the tournament, his impact was undeniable. Despite his heroics, Portugal ultimately finished fourth, but Ronaldo’s promise as a rising star was clear. In subsequent World Cup editions in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022, Ronaldo continued to be a focal point of Portugal’s attack, showcasing his incredible goal-scoring ability.

However, one striking statistic stands out: Ronaldo has never managed to score in the knockout stages of the World Cup. His goals have consistently come during the group stage matches, leaving fans and analysts puzzled by his relative lack of impact in the tournament’s latter stages.

Despite this particular World Cup record, there is no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo’s international career has been filled with memorable moments and a legacy that will endure for generations to come.
