Cristiano Ronaldo once recalled the ‘life-saving’ McDonald’s employees who helped him in poverty-stricken conditions during childhood

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers on the planet. He always boasts about the fact that he never forgets his past despite all the success he has achieved so far. And he has always been vocal about thanking people who helped him when he needed it most.
Back in 2019, during an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo talked about Edna Carina Emanuel Caldas, an employee of Mcdonald’s, and how she helped him during his poverty-stricken days. Cristiano recalled his growing up days in poverty in Madeira, Portugal.
In the interview, Ronaldo revealed, during his days at the Sporting Lisbon academy, how he used to beg for food when he was just 12 years old. The former Manchester United star said, “Late at night, about 10:30 or 11, we’d get a little hungry. So we had a McDonald’s next to the stadium where we lived and we’d always go to the back door and knock on the door, ‘Hey, do you have any hamburgers left?”‘
Ronaldo then claimed that he never saw or heard from them after he left Lisbon but would really like to get in touch with them. He said, “I want to invite them to Turin or Lisbon to come to my house, to have dinner with me and I want to meet these girls. I want to give something back to them because that period was a period that I cherish very much. You can’t imagine what it meant to have burgers at night.”
After the interview was aired, Edna did come up and gave a statement regarding the above-mentioned incidents. She said, “I’m happy and it shows how humble he is. I’m really nobody for him to remember me like that. It was something that happened a long time ago. I’m very happy about what he has become. I never thought he would remember me so many years later.”
However, after this, it was never confirmed whether Edna and Cristiano finally met again or not. Ronaldo has now moved to Saudi Arabia with his family as he signed for Saudi side Al Nassr. This was after he left Manchester United following a disastrous second stint at the club.

She put on a display in a pair of high pointed-toe heels. She also had her belongings around in a black designer bag.
Rodriguez styled her long dark hair in loose waves. She also wore a pair of bold black sunglasses. She also wore an eye-catching silver glittering necklace and a pair of coordinated large stud earrings.
She shared a snap as she and her partner Cristiano watched the sunset from the lavish yacht with friends. The Portuguese star looked effortlessly cool in a white linen shirt which he teamed with a pair of coordinated shorts and sunglasses.
Georgina was seen to be in high spirits in the photographs. She uploaded a photo of herself climbing up the boat ladder out of the ocean.
