Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo faced yet another controversy, after a recent post by a popular Ronaldo fan page, claimed to have been associated with the player in a paid partnership. The 38-year-old’s social team has been accused of “paying troll accounts” on social media.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a highly popular athlete with millions of fans, is linked to numerous fan pages that actively support him. These pages, accused of discrediting Ronaldo’s rivals, mainly Lionel Messi, allegedly receive payment from the former Real Madrid star and his team.

One such Instagram page, ‘GOATnaldo Junction,’ posted in support of Ronaldo’s recent statement on the credibility of individual awards, asserting that the Ballon d’Or is more meaningful when genuinely earned.

The post, now deleted, surprisingly revealed a ‘Paid partnership’ with the 38-year-old. Screenshots circulating on social media indicate that Ronaldo compensated the fan account for sharing the post, forming a partnership.

Meanwhile, this is the former United star’s third recent controversy, after he garnered a lot of criticism when he spoke out in favor of the Saudi PL, claiming it to be superior to the French league, and also questioned the credibility of the Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best awards.

Netizens react to the news of Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly paying ‘troll accounts’ for misinformation

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and his social media team have been accused of paying troll accounts and fan pages for sharing misinformation and propaganda, generating reactions from fans. This follows a post from a Ronaldo fan page claiming he ‘earned’ the Ballon d’Or, marked as a paid partnership with him.

The news created a lot of controversy, as rival fans shared their angered reactions on social media platforms. While some fans deemed it ‘shameless’ if the accusations proved to be true, another fan felt that the player had fallen to a new low. Moreover, Ronaldo’s fans, on the other hand, dismissed the allegations, considering the fan account as fake and unbelievable.
