After a thrilling quarter-final against Daniil Medvedev, Carlos Alcaraz won both sets 6-4 to progress to the semi-finals. Following the win, the Spaniard approached the camera, took out a green marker, and paid homage to Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. On the camera, he wrote, “Semis SIUUU,” before handing over the marker and making his way out. The internet has reacted to the same, with many praising the player for his choice of celebration.

Spanish Tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has never shied away from an iconic celebration. The 20-year-old has taken the Tennis world by storm and has forced his way into the semi-final of the ATP World Tour Finals. He beat Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals to book his place against Novak Djokovic in the semis. An elated Alcaraz pulled out yet another iconic celebration, but this time, imitating Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

After the celebration went viral, fans boasted Ronaldo’s ‘unreal’ influence on the global stage. Several players, including footballers, cricketers, and basketball players have hit the ‘SIU’ in recent years.

Alcaraz took to Twitter after the win, posting a picture of himself with the caption:

Cristiano Ronaldo shines during the international break

38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo once again showed why he belongs at the top with his sublime performance during the International break. The Portuguese #7 scored a total of three goals during the international break, one coming against Liechtenstein and two against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Roberto Martinez‘s captain already has 10 goals and 1 assist in 8 games for the team.

Cristiano put up a show against Bosnia and Herzegovina, scoring 2 and setting up another for his teammate. Ronaldo opened the scoring with a penalty in the 5th minute. He followed up the penalty with a chip goal, beating the keeper as well as a rushing defender to make it 2-0 for Portugal. Additionally, he also set up João Cancelo for Portugal’s 4th of the night.

Against Lichtenstein, the forward had a slightly muted performance. However, he still managed to score for his side, putting them into the lead in the 46th minute. Cristiano’s goal tally for Portugal rose to 128 goals from 204 matches. The #7 returns to action for Al-Nassr again Al Akhdoud on 24 November, but not before Portugal face Iceland on the 20th of November before the International break closes.
