Odds predict Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United amidst Atletico Madrid rumours

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his intentions to leave Manchester United 3 weeks back, days after he was expected to show up for pre-season training at the Carrington. However, while his agent, Jorge Mendes has been working to find him a new club, the pursuits have borne no fruit for the Portuguese yet.

Ronaldo has already missed the first 2 pre-season games of Manchester United after being absent from their tour to Thailand and Australia. It seems the 37-year-old will likely miss the entire pre-season but end up staying at Old Trafford for the next season.

With Ronaldo failing to find a new club, the bookies in London have increased the odds of him staying at manchester United. The odds now stand at 10/11 for Ronaldo to stay with the Red Devils.

Cristiano Ronaldo rejects a return to Sporting Lisbon, labels the rumours as ‘Fake News’

Latest rumours suggested that Ronaldo could make another return to an old club, and this time to his boyhood club, Sporting Lisbon. The Portugal international’s mother has always expressed her wish to see Ronaldo play for Lisbon again.

However, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, the player has rejected the move to Sporting and labelled the rumours as ‘Fake News.’ Earlier, Ronaldo also rejected moves from MLS and Lucrative offers from Saudi as his main priority is to stay in Europe and play in the Champions League.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich have also bowed out of the race while PSG has opted for a young Hugo Ekitike instead of the ageing Portuguese. With there being barely any other clubs remaining that can afford Cristiano Ronaldo, the player is most likely to continue with Man Utd.

Rumours suggest that Deigo Simione’s Atletico Madrid could also make a move for Cristiano Ronaldo instead of triggering the €40 million buy option on Antoine Griezmann. Hence, there is still a chance that the player doesn’t play in England next season.
