England captain Harry Kane joined the Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich, in the summer transfer window. Following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, it is understood that the 30-year-old goal machine is likely to make a return to North London in the future.
Tottenham let their star man leave for a hefty fee of over €100 million to join the Bavarians on a 4-year contract. Recently, Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy revealed that the club has installed a ‘buy back’ clause in their star man’s contract. However, a likely fee or return was not revealed.
Speaking at a fan forum, Levy said that “He’s always welcome back — Harry’s a much loved and valued member of the Spurs family and forever in our history.” Harry Kane remains the all-time top scorer for Spurs, scoring 280 goals in 435 outings for the club.
Kane also hinted at a return to North London, as he said during his departure, “It’s not a goodbye because you never know how things pan out in the future but it’s a thank you and I’ll see you soon.” He also added that he’ll be watching Tottenham closely.
The 30-year-old has had a great start to life in Germany, scoring 4 times in his first 5 games. His former club also had a great start to their season, with 13 points in 5 games and 2nd in the table.

Harry Kane and Bayern Munich take on Manchester United
Harry Kane gets ready for his first Champions League game since going out to AC Milan 1-0 on aggregate last season. Kane and Bayern are up against familiar rivals Manchester United, whom the prolific striker has scored five goals against in previous meetings.
Kane recently spoke to the press regarding interest from the Red Devils prior to his move to the German Champions. United failed to meet Spurs’ demands for the player and ended up settling for Rasmus Højlund, whom they signed from Atalanta for £64 million.

Prior to their clash in Group A, Kane revealed why he chose the Bavarian club over United. He acknowledged that the deal was mostly up to the club, but he said that “Bayern were a team I was really interested and excited by.” He also added that United are a great club and a big one as well.
However, he made it clear that it was his decision to move to Bayern and that he was happy with his move. He also told the press that in spite of their poor spell of games against Arsenal and then Brighton, they must be careful of the Red Devils. Harry Kane believes that they can be “dangerous” at times.
United are looking to bounce back, and Bayern must be cautious of the tie, acknowledged Kane. He also added that, being a home game, Bayern will look to dictate the tempo and play at their own pace on Wednesday night. The Allianz Arena is set to host the Group A opener. After bagging 4 goals in his first 5 Bundesliga games, Kane will be looking to continue his goal-scoring form in the Champions League as well.
