Arsenal hosted Liverpool for the third round of the FA Cup, the most prestigious domestic cup in England. Both teams wanted to win, which was just another step closer to another trophy. The match was played in the Emirates Stadium, which ended in a 0-2 win for the Reds. But more than the scoreline, the celebration of Darwin Nunez and Ibrahima Konate is the highlight.

Throughout the first half, Arsenal were the more dominating team, with 13 shots compared to Liverpoo’s 2. Out of the 13 shots, the Gunners had only 5 on target. But in the 2nd half, the game’s balance completely shifted tides.

Arsenal were unable to continue the momentum they had in the first half, as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s trademark long balls helped them gain advantage. In the 80th minute, the game finally had its first goal and Jakub Kiwior headed the ball into his own net.

Subsequently, the celebrations following the goal were wild because of Darwin Nunez and Ibrahima Konate. The duo was seen ‘slapping’ a Liverpool fan’s head in an Adrenaline rush – the fan joined in on the players’ celebrating the goal in front of the away end at the Emirates.

First, it was the Uruguayan who was spotted slapping the fan’s head and later the French defender joined in. Not only that, Konate was seen removing the fan’s beenie and throwing it into the stands. This whole incident has got the Netizens in stitches.

Meanwhile, the Gunners attempted to equalize but struggled to create meaningful opportunities, with most chances going off-target. Desperate to score, the entire team pushed forward, only to have their efforts backfire.

When Liverpool started an attack in the final minute of the game, they had 5 attackers compared to Arsenal’s 4. They scored with the last kick of the game, with Luis Diaz beating Aaron Ramsdale with a no-look strike into the top corner.

This is the second time in a row that Arsenal have been knocked out in the 3rd round of the FA Cup in the past 3 years, losing to Nottingham Forest in 2021/22. The game also focuses on Arsenal’s inability to finish their chances, with it being one of the biggest reasons they lost three games in a row.

Many Liverpool fans enjoyed their 0-2 win as they qualified for the 4th round of the FA Cup. But the one clip that is taking rounds on the internet is of Darwin Nunez and Ibrahima Konate ‘slapping’ a fan while celebrating.
