Assisting his MLS team in defeating Nashville SC, Lionel Messi contributed to their Leagues Cup victory, maintaining his impressive streak since joining the team. The storied Argentinian initiated the game with a remarkable goal from the box’s edge in the 23rd minute. Nashville’s Fabrice-Jean ‘Fafa’ Picault equalized in the 57th minute with a close-range shot.

Following extra time, the score remained level, and David Beckham’s Miami team clinched a tense penalty shootout, triumphing 10-9. Messi effectively converted his team’s initial penalty kick, leading them to secure their inaugural trophy since their establishment in 2020. After the trophy presentation, the celebration escalated. The club’s social media shared a video of the victorious team entering the dressing room and spraying champagne, offering followers a peek into the after-party.

During manager Gerardo Martino’s post-game press conference, players playfully interrupted, showering the Argentine with champagne. The team danced, tossing more champagne in the locker room as the lively antics continued. Interestingly, some players sported ski masks during the festivities. Owner David Beckham also joined in, confidently navigating through everyone, even snapping a few photos in his suit.

Since Lionel Messi’s arrival, the team has clinched seven consecutive victories. Beckham emotionally expressed himself to the club, saying, ‘A lot can happen in five weeks! A lot has changed for us, we will enjoy tonight” He was also seen in a passionate hug with Messi after their win was secured, thanking the player for his immense contribution.
