Manchester United announced the mournful passing of Lady Cathy Ferguson on the 6th of October. The wife of former Manager and club legend Sir Alex Ferguson died at the age of 84. Her family and loved ones paid their respects at her funeral in St.Andrew’s Cathedral. David Beckham and a list of former Manchester United players and legends were spotted at the ceremony.

“It’s really tough for him, his children and grandkids. So, obviously, we send all our love to them at this moment,” said the former United #7. Additionally, he offered his sympathies to ‘the boss’. Moreover, Beckham called Lady Cathy Ferguson his ‘strength and career through Sir Alex’s life’. Several other club legends and players joined him in the ceremony.

Gary Neville, Michael Carrick, Ji-Sung Park, Darren Fletcher, and Nicky Butt were also seen paying their respects. They were all players coached by Sir Alex.

Moreover, former United captains Bryan Robson and Steve Bruce were also in attendance at the ceremony. Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and Kenny Dalglish were also present at St. Andrew’s.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s son gives emotional eulogy to departed mother

Family and friends paid their respects to Lady Cathy Ferguson in a heartfelt ceremony. Lady Ferguson’s and Sir Alex Ferguson’s son Jason read out a tearful eulogy for his late mother. He told those gathered about how his mother was ‘all about family’. He revealed how his granddaughter was born, only two days after her passing.

Moreover, they named her ‘Isla Cathleen’ and said that it was the ‘perfect tribute’ to his late mother. Moreover, he revealed that his son’s wife went into labor moments before the ceremony. Lady Ferguson is survived by her husband Sir Alex Ferguson and family, with whom she was married for 57 years. She was labeled “my rock” by Sir Alex in a previous interview.

Lady Cathy is also loved by United fans for persuading her husband out of Retirement back in 2002. They enjoyed monumental success with Sir Alex. He led the club to 38 titles during his tenure at the club. He was in charge of United for over two and a half decades. “We looked up to the boss. We also looked up to Cathy,” Beckham said.
