Talking to Sky Sports, Manchester City and Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne named his favorite among Premier League midfielders Bruno Fernandes, Martin Odegaard, and James Maddison.

When asked to pick the best among these three, De Bruyne answered that Bruno Fernandes is a ‘creative machine’, who likes to take risks and this is the one thing he likes about the Portuguese. Speaking on Odegaard, De Bruyne said that the Norwegian midfielder is a bit more controlled than Fernandes. Further, he added that the 24-year-old would become better with time. Lastly, for Maddison, the Belgian gave his two cents as he thought that the Englishman’s creative powers would flourish with time. Especially at Tottenham, right now.

While some fans think that Odegaard and Bruno cannot be compared. There are many who lauded De Bruyne’s ‘ball knowledge’. Meanwhile, Arsenal fans opined that the Norwegian has already been included in the team of the season in 3 different leagues- Premier League, La Liga, and Eredivisie.

The Belgian is set to miss around 3 months of action because of the surgery. So, Manchester City must find a replacement for KDB in either Mateo Kovacic or Phil Foden if they want to maintain the Premier League title defense alive.

Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne made the record transfer from Wolfsburg to Manchester City on this day, 8 years ago. After featuring for Chelsea in the Premier League, De Bruyne was sold off to the Bundesliga as a ‘failed talent’. Making just 9 appearances during his time with the Blues, his move to Wolfsburg rejuvenated his blooming career. After career-defining seasons in the Bundesliga, Kevin earned the move back to the Premier League with his mind set on winning. It was the Cityzens who grabbed the deal, and straight up making into the playing XI.

Meanwhile, his Premier League season as a Cityzen has been nothing short of successful. Till now, he has already lifted five Premier Leagues and a Champions League among many other silverware. He is also the first-team captain and has 64 goals and 103 assists for City so far. No doubt the fans will be expecting more of the same when he returns to the pitch in a few months.
