After opening an investigation into an incident involving Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson on the field, the FA spoke with Arsenal defender Gabriel. The pair are now at the centre of ongoing inquiries.
The Football Association has met with Arsenal defender Gabriel following the opening of an investigation into his Sunday altercation with Jordan Henderson, the captain of Liverpool. As part of the FA’s inquiries into his heated altercation with Henderson, Brazilian international Gabriel has spoken to disciplinary officials. It is also believed that Henderson has had the opportunity to explain his side of the story.
It is believed that Gabriel, who appears unconcerned about the situation, has reported that he heard something on the field that led to an argument with Henderson. On Sunday night, the FA declared that they were investigating into the events that occurred immediately following the crucial penalty that gave Arsenal a 3-2 victory.
During the flashpoint, Henderson and Gabriel had to be separated, and it is now obvious that they are at the heart of the FA’s initial inquiries. It is uncertain whether the FA will launch a thorough probe into the situation.
